Technology; Equipment
The equipment used in production of our Surveillance Unit is second to none. Sourcing the best parts at the correct price pays off in the long run, and we pass these savings and benefits on to you. All original equipment and any post-delivery upgrades are supplied with a minimum two year warranty with Suspicion Industries. We will liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to replace faulty parts on your behalf and endeavour to deliver replacements to you as soon as possible keeping you updated on our progress at all times.
CCTV
All our models are supplied with a fully integrated PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) CCTV camera. Various other equipment is available for special operations or more advanced surveillance. The PTZ dome is roof mounted and provides 360 degree visibility and long range zoom capabilities. Inside the vehicle you will find the camera's control panel, which allows alarm zones to be set up as well as preset locations, for immediate recall. Other external surveillance is provided by a number of different pin hole cameras, all hidden discretely around the vehicle for maximum privacy and security.
Computer System
The onboard computers are the very heart of any mobile surveillance unit. From here you’ll view/record camera feeds, monitor audio, access the internet and record information using our in-house software packages. Large flat screen monitors provide ample viewing space for all these tasks. Huge disk storage allows for weeks worth of camera and audio footage to be stored for later playback and analysis. All our computers come with the latest Intel Dual Core processors and maximum memory to ensure blistering speed, whatever you’re doing. Of course, you’ll always be connected to the Internet too, should you want to check your emails or chat to a colleague online. We can provide a variety of software setups from our very own specialist programs to standard packages like XP/Vista/Linux/Office software. Two computers are provided as standard in each van.
Networking
Accessing the internet on the move and in the field is something that’s a necessity for modern private investigators. Whether that means keeping in contact with other employees, accessing databases or viewing camera feeds from remote locations we have a solution for you. All our onboard computers come with the required ‘Super G’ technology to ensure your van remains seamlessly connected to the internet wherever you roam. Our network operator of choice is Vodafone which provides almost nationwide coverage for mobile internet users. In major cities, you can expect download speeds of 300-500Kbps and along most motorways speeds of around 150Kbps are normal. If you move out of an area covered by the ‘Super G’ network, you’ll automatically be connected to a local GPRS satellite, which is available wherever there is mobile phone signal. Although this service is slower (30-60kbps), enough coverage is still provided for light web browsing, handling emails and instant messaging. Remember, mobile phone operators are extending their coverage all the time and the technology we install will be suitable to handle download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps. Vodafone plan to expand their Super G network coverage by 50% by the end of 2008.
Monitoring
To support the myriad of technology available inside the vehicle, high quality displays are a must, and we offer a number of choices. Even the least advanced models come with flat screen technology, with larger screens and higher resolutions available on demand. We can also fit multiple supplementary monitors for various other uses, including custom sockets and connections based on your pre-existing equipment and future possibilities.
Recording
Recording is accomplished through dedicated DVRs, with large inbuilt capacities (some upwards of 60 days continous capture) and network ready access for downloading of video. Also available is the option to burn video content straight to removeable media such as CD or DVD. This allows for quick dispatch of sensitive material in a safe and secure form. Cameras are also connected to the computer system, via capture hardware, that allows not only PC based recording, but PC monitoring of multiple cameras simultaneously.
Aural Devices
As anyone with an interest in investigation knows, surveillance isn’t just limited to video footage. Serious PIs have radio, internet and audio equipment at their fingertips. Extended use of mobile phones can be expensive after all. To combat this we can fit intercom systems and CB radios to all our vehicles, enabling you to communicate with colleagues and monitor the airwaves within an eight mile radius. A 10 channel mobile transceiver in included, as well as the standard base station, and you can add as many transceivers as the application requires.
Vehicle Protection
Although being inside the van offers a certain amount of protection, it also brings challenges and a small degree of vulnerability. As there is very little outside visibility in the form of windows or openings, other solutions are needed to ensure the safety of the vehicle and its occupants. The most advanced of these solutions is the complete array of cameras mounted externally, and designed to give full coverage of the outside of the vehicle. Alarms based on motion detection can trigger immediate visual warnings and recording, or the cameras can be monitored live.
Remote Surveillance
Other operations are also provided for with the technology inside our vehicle. Due to it's connectivity and advanced nature we can provide a myriad of other components, that are compatible with the pre-exisiting setup. From wireless cameras and microphones, to multi-radio based systems and much more, we can link everything together and provide you with the perfect operations control centre for your job.
